Outlets

Saturday morning, my mom, sisters, nephews, & I went to the outlets in Williamsburg. Sometimes, we go just to window shop & spend quality time together. Sometimes, we go to get Christmas presents. & sometimes, we go to spend most of the day in Carters, Crocs, and Soma. That would be Saturday. ;)

Now that I'm working full-time, I never see my mom & I never ever see my nephews. Stacey & Lydia I'm used to not seeing as much, but I still miss 'em. It was nice to have a girls (and babies) day with them.

Next up: IKEA - and I can't wait!

The boys could not figure out what was going on once that thing started moving!

White Lake

Every year, a family from our church {who is more like family that also goes to our church, haha!} goes down to White Lake, North Carolina for a week. Last year, Katie & I went with them & had sooo much fun. It's like a huge swimming pool with sand and a pier and lots & lots of seaweed, or a small ocean with no sharks & jellyfish & crabs nibbling at your toes. It's kind of perfect!

Every year, they stay at the same little place that I don't think has been updated...ever. But that's what makes people want to come back! It's not a great big tourist spot like the Outer Banks, it's people who go the same week every year & make friends with other people who go that same week every year. The people at the office know who you are & try their hardest to cater to your needs. Once you have a spot there, you always have a spot there. It's really kind of perfect!

This year, Katie & I both had to work, but were able to go down with Sebastian for the shortest of getaways. We left Sunday night at 11 {Sebastian had to work & we left when he got off} & left White Lake Monday night at 10 to come back home. It took us four hours to get there & back, but it was worth it! Because remember, the place is kind of perfect. ;)

When we got there, we went straight to bed. The next morning, we ate breakfast at The Sandwich Shop then headed out to the lake for the day!

After we swam for awhile, we got out to eat lunch at The Sandwich Shop - it's really that good - & then we went back for round two. At some point, I don't know if it was before or after lunch, we swam out to a booey in the water. After a float got away, Katie turned Michael Phelps on us trying to get it, but the float was just too...floaty. With every stride, it would be pushed further away. So the rest of us met up with her and ended up swimming four or five piers over to where the float had been cornered. Theeeen we swam back. I just about counted that as my exercise for life. Hehe.

Theeen, before we went to dinner at the coolest mexican restaurant, we played a round of putt putt. I'm not sure what the score was because I ended up running away after my ball disappeared in the eighteenth hole in order to get some sunset shots, but I'm completely positive that I didn't win. Or come in second. Or third. I was probably last. Oh weeell.

We had such a good time the little bit that we were there! I'm so glad we could shimmy our way out of work for a day filled with sun & water & seaweed & fish & fried green beans & cheese dip & the best of the best friends!

Yes, my face really was that red.........
